Course Description

This course shows educators how to implement the researched-based instructional strategies with educational technologies. Various computer and internet applications are presented along with lesson-planning ideas and strategies for every grade level. The book provides word processing applications, organizing software, data collection tools and web resources for teachers to use in various classroom lessons and settings. Educators will apply the book concepts to utilize technology with their classroom instruction as well as develop lessons for classroom implementation.

Course Objectives

  1. Educators will learn how to effectively use researched-based instructional strategies that work with educational technologies, such as computer and internet applications.
  2. Participants will learn which strategies work best for what students will be learning. They will also be presented with ideas of how to provide evidence of student learning when using technology.
  3. Educators will be presented with word processing applications, spreadsheet software organizing tools and multimedia for lesson planning in classroom applications.
  4. Participants will be exposed to web and data collection resources as well as Identifying communication software for educator or student homework practice.
  5. Educators will learn how to best use and integrate technology into their instruction and write a research review or develop unit and lessons applying the course content in their classroom instruction.

Course Description

This course will present writing techniques and self-talk language that goes beyond the superficial educational phrases or cliché's used in schools. Instead of "self-esteemology", it presents the concept of right thinking and the truth about who we really are. Teachers will learn to write and use positive affirmations that are meaningful as well effective in shaping human behavior. They will also be exposed to new ways of thinking regarding the miss-programming of our minds and how the brain works. Educators will apply the concepts into schools settings by developing writings, lessons and classroom activities.

Course Objectives

  1. Educators will learn how to go beyond positive thinking to develop right thinking and to realize the power and potential truth about ourselves that we possess.
  2. Teachers will examine myths and misinformation about superficial positive thinking and show how to take self-talk affirmations to a higher and more effective level.
  3. Educators will be presented with writing samples and techniques for developing effective positive affirmations and self talk for writing assignments and classroom use.
  4. Students will be able to use quality positive affirmations to improve their instructional delivery and writing as well as student empowerment and personal success.
  5. Teachers will develop writings, lessons and affirmations for classroom and student applications as well as for their own personal effectiveness.

Course Description

This course will help educators understand the learning style theories of Aspergers syndrome and the issues that Asperkids face. A variety of learning strategies and accommodations are presented in order to help students succeed in facing the challenges that schools and life present. Educators learn to maintain a structured and supportive learning environment that is conducive to the needs of Asperkids and all students. Educators will research the topic of Aspergers syndrome to see what is happening in the educational community to understand and assist asperstudents. Teachers will develop lessons and activities that demonstrate the application of concepts and learning methods that help improve the learning quality and success of Asperkids in school and society.

Asperkids: Understanding Children with Asperger's Syndrome

Course Objectives

  1. Educators will learn about the theories of how and what goes on in the minds of children with Aspergers syndrome and develop an understanding of how they think.
  2. Teachers will examine the various ways of motivating Asperkids by finding and using areas of interest to engage Aspergers kids by listening and facilitating their passions.
  3. Educators will be presented with numerous approaches to help Asperkids perceive the world in concrete sequential ways as they learn random and abstract ways of thinking.
  4. Educators will be able to use the specific strategies to help Asperkids in preparation skills that help them with various methods of getting around obstacles and challenges.
  5. Teachers will develop lessons and activities that utilize various strategies in the book that help Asperkids learn practical skills so they can succeed in school and society.
